RBU Distance Education: Rabindra Bharati University will soon invite applications for its PG distance education courses for the 2025 academic year. The online application will commence from 05 July 2025, and the application deadline is expected to be 31 July 2025. RBU DDE offers MA and MSW in different specializations like Bengali, English, History, Political Science, Education, Environmental Studies, Geography, Vocal Music, and Rabindra Sangeet.

Students can get admission to these programs who have completed their bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Aspirants can submit applications on the official website www.rbucdoe.ac.in. The application fee for applying for all courses is Rs 300.  

About University: Established in 1962, Rabindra Bharati University was set up in Kolkata under the Rabindra Bharati Act, 1961, as a tribute to the famous poet and Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The university is especially well known for its contribution to the performing arts, humanities, and social sciences. RBU DDE admission registration will start from 05 July 2025, the last date to apply being around 31 July 2025 for the July session 2025. Candidates are required to fulfill the eligibility criteria, which is a bachelor’s degree with 45% marks. Admission process at RBU Distance Education is entirely based on merit, and no entrance exam is necessary. 

RBU offers 11 UGC-DEB-approved PG programs, which include MA in Bengali, MA in English, MA in History, MA in Political Science, MA in Rabindra Sangeet, Master of Social Work (MSW), and more via its ODL mode. These courses generally take 2 years to complete, which includes 4 semesters. The Average program fees range from Rs 5,000 to Rs 12,000 per semester, depending on the chosen MA subject, with additional exam fees between Rs 2,500 and Rs 5,000.

• For MA programs: The candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in the concerned subject or an equivalent degree, with at least 45% to 50% marks from a recognized university.
• For MSW: A graduate in any field is eligible to apply.
• All admissions are based on merit—there is no entrance examination, which makes the process easier and more convenient.
