BAOU offers 37+ programs including 20 UG programs, 16 postgraduate programs, and 1 PhD program. Students can get admission to these courses who have completed their 10+2 Qualification or Graduation with a minimum of 45%-50% of marks.

BAOU offers a wide range of distance education programs with specific eligibility criteria. For UG programs such as BA, B.Com, BBA, BSW, and BCA, candidates must have completed 10+2. The B.Ed program requires graduation with 50% marks (55% for math/science).

For PG programs such as MA, M.Com, MSW require a relevant bachelor’s degree with 50% marks is required, MBA requires 50% (45% for reserved), and MCA requires a bachelor’s with mathematics.

The BAOU application form fee ranges from ₹300 to ₹1,000, depending on the course and applicant category. GCAS registration is ₹500 for general candidates and ₹300 for SC/ST/female candidates, while online programs have a non-refundable ₹1,000 registration fee paid with the first semester/year fee.

BAOU UG Admission 2025

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU) has opened applications for its 2025–26 distance education UG courses, namely BA, B.Com, BBA, BCA, B.Sc (Hons), BSW, BLIS, and B.Ed. Applications started on May 5, 2025, and closed on August 31, 2025. Eligibility is normally the passing of 10+2 with 45–50% marks or more, as per the course. 

Admission is merit-based, with the exception of B.Ed., which requires an entrance exam that will be held on January 5, 2026. Course lengths are 1 to 4 years, and annual charges are between ₹5,400 and ₹45,000, depending on the course. Candidates can apply from the Gujarat Common Admission Service (GCAS) portal and the BAOU website: baou.edu.in.

BAOU PG Admission 2025

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU) admissions applications started on  May 5, 2025, and the deadline is August 31, 2025, for its 2025–26 postgraduate (PG) programs. These programs include MA (English, Hindi, Gujarati, Sociology, Journalism & Mass Communication), M.Com, MBA, MCA, M.Sc (Data Science, IT, Computer Science), MSW, and MLIS.

The application process began on May 5, 2025, and ended on August 31, 2025. To be eligible, you usually need a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% of the marks (45% for reserved categories). However, some programs may have other requirements. 

The length of the programs varies from one to two years, and the fees depend on the course. For example, MA programs cost ₹3,800 a year, while MBA programs cost ₹7,500 a semester. People who are interested can apply through the Gujarat Common Admission Service (GCAS) portal and the official BAOU website, baou.edu.in.
