NOU Admission 2025: Nalanda Open University is offering admission for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, PG Diploma, and Certificate programs via its distance learning mode. The admission procedure has started from 3 June 2025 for the session 2025-26, and the last date to apply is 31 August 2025. There is no separate entrance exam accepted by the NOU for any distance learning course.

However, for special courses like BEd applicants have to appear in the CET-BED examination. Those candidates who appeared on the merit list are granted admission. After Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), it is the largest open university in the country. Nalanda Open University (NOU) has started accepting applications for admission to various Postgraduate, Undergraduate, PG Diploma, and Certificate courses for the 2025–26 academic year. Students can apply online through the official NOU website. The last date to apply for any distance learning program is set to be 31 August 2025.

Before filling out the form, students should download the university prospectus and read the instructions carefully. An application fee is INR 300, depending on the course. Students can pay the fee online using a credit/debit card, UPI, NEFT, RTGS, or other digital methods. Admission at NOU is generally based on your marks in the last qualifying exam. A candidate must hold a minimum qualification that is required for admission to the desired program at Nalanda Open University distance education. • The university does not set a maximum age limit for any distance learning programs.

Nalanda Open University Distance Education UG Admission

Admissions are now open at Nalanda Open University for undergraduate courses for the 2025–26 academic session, and students have time to apply until the 31August 2025. NOU offers a wide range of UG programs like BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, and BLIS, with subjects including Psychology, History, Economics, Botany, and more allowing students to choose as per their preference. NOU UG courses usually last for 3 years with 6 semesters. 

To apply, students must have completed their 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board in the same specialization. A minimum mark required to take admission is 45%.Entire admission is based on merit, so there’s no entrance exam accepted. However, those applicants who want to get enrolled in the BEd program need to appear in the CET-BED examination. The application process is online, with a registration fee of INR 300, and the total course fee ranges from INR 2400 to INR 6600, depending on the program.

Nalanda Open University Distance Education PG Admission

Nalanda Open University (NOU) offers a variety of PG programs such as MA, MSc, MCom, MJMC, and MLIS, with specializations in subjects like English, History, Economics, Political Science, Geography, and more. These programs are designed to be completed in 2 years, divided into 4 semesters. NOU has officially opened admissions for its PG programs for the 2025–26 academic session, with the last date to apply set as 31 August 2025. 

Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized university with the required qualifying marks of 55%. The admission process is merit-based, and no entrance examination is required for most courses. PG course fee at NOU ranges between INR 4400 to INR 20000. INR 300 is required for application fee.

How to Apply for Nalanda Open University Admission 2025

Candidates seeking online admission to various courses of Nalanda Open University are required to first register online. Students kindly download the instructions for ready reference and follow the guidelines during online filling of the application form.

Step 1: Go to the official website of the university to fill out the online application form.

Step 2: Now, choose the course and click on the Admission tab to proceed further.

Step 3: On the home page (the web page which opens after you click on the Admission link) please click on the “New Admission” button. 

Step 4: Download the Instructions by clicking the right bottom link on the page and go through all the details. 

Step 5: For New Applicant click on the button indicating “New Applicant” and create a new account.

Step 6: Applicants need to fill out all the details carefully such as applicants name, phone number, email id, and Id proof to get registered. 

Step 7: After filling up the form and clicking on the ‘Register’ button the candidate will receive an email and SMS with all the credentials for login.

Step 8: To login applicants have to enter the registered applicant number and password. 

Step 9: After entering correct credentials the candidate will have to enter OTP (which is also sent in SMS & Email). OTP will only be required for first time login.

Step 10: After entering OTP the candidate will be taken to the main Application Form. 

Step 11: Fill out all the sections such as educational, personal, document, and payment section. 

Step 12: Now, move forward and upload all the mandatory documents in the same size as mentioned in the application form. 

Step 13: Pay an application fee using UPI, Cards, NEFT, Net Banking, Online wallet and others. 

Step 14: Before submitting, candidates can preview the filled up application by Clicking on the “Preview” button. 

Step 15: Now, click on the “Submit Button” for the final submission. 

Step 16: Candidates shall take the print out of the admission form and keep it with them for future reference.
